Engineering Diagnostics, Inc. (EDI) was incorporated in the State of Texas on January 1, 1995. EDI is the successor to the non-incorporated company, Engineering Diagnostics, founded by David H. Nicastro, P.E., on August 2, 1994. Mr. Nicastro, the Chief Executive Officer of EDI, has authored numerous articles and books related to forensic and facilities engineering. Mr. Nicastro continues to practice engineering and educate clients and colleagues through frequent speaking engagements and guest lectures on topics such as forensic engineering and failure mechanism theory at universities. In 1995, Philip J. Sumang, P.E., joined Engineering Diagnostics, bringing significant structural engineering and facilities consulting experience. Mr. Sumang has both an engineering degree and an MBA in Finance, and is the corporation's President. EDI collectively possesses over 100 years of experience providing consulting services for existing and new structures. The depth of experience in our staff of professionals includes formal training in architecture and engineering as well as hands-on construction experience. EDI currently employs many engineers and technicians with a wide variety of expertise and experience, in addition to other support staff. In July 2001, Jerry M. Klosowski, Scientist Emeritus of Dow Corning Corporation, joined EDI as a Senior Chemist. In 2001, EDI was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest growing privately-held companies in America. EDI was also recently recognized by the University of Houston Small Business Development Center as a member of The Houston 100 one of the privately held companies that have made the greatest economic impact on Houston.
