Parking garages subjected to severe deterioration mechanisms due to the effects of de-icing chemicals, water infiltration, freeze-thaw action, differential structural movement, and metal corrosion require appropriate maintenance to remain in service. Engineering Diagnostics maintains a wide range of experience in diagnosing garage deterioration and recommending appropriate remedies for all types of garages from the sun-belt to the snow-belt.

Our experience encompasses all types of garages, including precast concrete; prestressed concrete; cast-in-place concrete; conventionally reinforced concrete; post-tensioned concrete; and steel framed structures. We are familiar with the in-service structural behavior of garages and typical garage deterioration mechanisms. Likewise, we are also experienced in the remedy of a wide range of garage problems, and specifying structural repairs and waterproofing materials.

Failure Analysis: We evaluate causes of distress including the pervasiveness of distress and its significance to the use of the structure. By categorizing distress as either a serviceability or structural failure, the remedies can be prioritized. We can perform a study to develop opinions of probable construction cost for budgeting. Once the proper remedy has been identified, we can prepare plans, specifications, bidding documents, and contract documents to implement the recommended repairs.
