Structural Analysis

Engineering Diagnostics specializes in the structural analysis of existing buildings and designing remedies and modifications. We employ engineers with a variety of backgrounds, and who are registered in multiple states. Whether the problem consists of parking garage distress, foundation and slab settlement, concrete beam and column cracking, steel corrosion, or even fire distress; we possess the resources to analyze the problem.

Our engineers are well versed in state-of-the-art analysis techniques, including finite element analysis of frames, solids and shells; second-order, inelastic (“advanced”) analysis of building frames; and classical mechanics of materials approaches. In the investigation of existing systems, our engineers look past code equations, when appropriate, to include the latest empirical data and material properties established from laboratory testing.

Analysis and Renovation of Existing Distressed Structures:

Existing building deterioration
Parking garage deterioration
Foundation and slab settlement
Concrete beam and column cracking
Fire distress of steel beams and concrete
Steel corrosion
Design modifications for code compliance
Forensic investigations to determine likely causes of failures
Construction monitoring of fabrication and erection procedures

Analysis and Renovation for “Change of Use”:

Analysis of building components for new load requirements
Design of renovations to strengthen overstressed or undersized components
Building and garage additions
